Our Story

After finishing up High School, I took a year out and travelled around SE Asia and beyond. I had some wild adventures, and saw many weird and wonderful things.
On my return, one day flicking through a travel book that covered a country I had just returned from, I came across the most jaw-dropping waterfalls, “a place not to be missed”. To my horror, I realised that during my travels I had only been 15 minutes from there. There was no signs, nobody local advertising it.

Determined to not miss out on once in a lifetime opportunities again, I started to work on an idea of mine.. And so began an 8 year journey of creating the Map you see today.
Phu Cuong Waterfall, Vietnam.
Those 8 years, I painstakingly looked through every travel book, every website, every video and every message board I could find, compiling a list of only the coolest places, the best experiences and everything in between around the world! And now I’m sharing it with you! Yes its all completely free to use, I don’t want people to be blocked from having access to this wonderful map, and I want each and every person to get as much use and benefit from it as much as I have!

I researched every travel book, travel website, video & message board from all over the world and compiled a vast list of the coolest places to visit, the best experiences and everything in between. It was a huge undertaking, and I would like to share this work with you through my new website where2go.com.

Where2Travel.org is completely free to use!

My hope is that users of the site will return from their travels refreshed & enthused, having visited new and exciting places and had wonderfully different experiences.

The purpose of these maps, and making it accessible for all, is to not gate-keep travel experiences from the broke students, all the way up the high rollers. I want to create a community of suggestion, editing and improving the website daily. You can help out by highlighting mistakes, suggesting things to add and even donating to the website directly!
The website will always remain free and unobstructed for the user, you will never be asked to create an account, or pay to use it. I want to remain completely transparent and share that I will only generate revenue through donations and affiliate links to make bookings through the website. That will never change.

The purpose of Where2Travel.org is to act as a reference tool for people travelling within their own country or visiting other countries. As people get more enjoyment, value and benefits from using the site, my hope is that they will form into a user community.
